I'm running the alpha version, and I'm able to get correct data page and to enter a new chart. When I select city, there is a font issue (not enough vertical space) but you know that.

So far, so good!

Thanks!

Jean and Ed, thanks for your very helpful thoughts! I had not thought of using tabs, but that would probably do the job for me. I will check out the group() too.

Thanks, Ed. I will check it out and see what works. Can you put controls on a canvas?

I want to extend an existing script module by adding a button to open another window. I'm not sure whether a temporary window is possible or if not, can a window be hidden and shown to mimic closing and opening? I know I can include a library but does it say anywhere how multiple windows behave? I will find the limits by experimenting, I'm sure, but maybe there's something I'm overlooking?

Planetdance for windows / Whole Sign Houses change
« on: August 17, 2020, 06:37:31 PM »
I just noticed that the change Jean made in the Aug 10 update has put the horizon line back the way it was before. A few months ago, I asked for it to be changed to always draw the horizon line horizontal. And Jean changed it to be just the way I like it, for which I was most grateful.

So, it looks like there are different preferences for how the whole sign houses should be displayed. If we might trouble Jean further, maybe PD could offer two distinct house system options for WS houses. I won't try to persuade anyone to change their preference, but will point out that the original Project Hindsight group that re-introduced WS houses to the astrology world back in the 90s used a horizontal horizon. Not that it matters, it's not my place to set policy, so that's about it, thank you for everything.

Okay, now I get it. I could make a coincidings topic and put links to whatever I want there. I take it there would be a heading for Scripts or Apps that shows up under some higher-level heading. Sounds good to me.

Jean, I like the idea of having a section where things like tutorials and other references could be maintained and made available. I made three coincidings tutorials that were announced months ago and now are no longer readily visible in the FB group. The same is true, I guess, of the tutorials you guys have posted for PD. They don't have a permanent location in the forum, even though they are relatively permanent info sources needed by users. Or am I missing something?

Also, I'm not sure what you have in mind for new scripts. Is this for the scriptwriters to share code or is it a reference for organizing the code?

Jean, like you say, lots of spam and just being aware that we're in the belly of the beast.  :(

Ed, thanks for your interest, and likewise I admire the work you've put into PD, so much it amazes me.

I'm working on an update to coincidings and I'd be happy to hear of whatever you see might be improved in it.

The new features include:
* a new Wheel item on the menu that creates a recurrence chart for 1, 2, or 3 selected events.
The charts for more than 1 event are based on the mean date between events.
* a new Search feature that allows event figures to have either 2 or 3 selected events.
The 3-event figures are, as you might expect, a lot less frequent than the 2-event ones.

I wasn't going to say anything about that yet, but it just slipped out  ;D

Thanks, Jean, for setting up a non-FB group. FB gives me the creeps.
